Frequently Asked Questions
-
I will get in contact with you via email as soon as possible to set up a time to chat about your concerns.
-
Clients are prioritised based on a number of factors. This will include:
age of the child
availability
areas of concern
how long someone has been waiting for services and when contact was made with me
-
Yes. The nature of who I support often means people require longer term support which means availability can be limited.
Although I do use a waiting list system, I strive to provide some consultative supports to you so your child is not just waiting and the gap in their skills continues to widen.
-
Yes. It is possible that you can engage in only an assessment with me and not continue with therapy.
-
If you have a report with your child’s assessment results, we can jump straight into therapy. I need to have information on your child’s challenges to create effective and relevant goals to target in therapy.
-
This is what we use the initial phone call for to discuss your concerns and if your child requires speech pathology services. If it is recommended to access speech services, then we will complete an appropriate assessment and discuss the results and recommendations.
-
When I am regularly working with you, I use a combination of direct and consultative service deliveries. This means that I am working directly with your child while coaching you in how to support your child.
If we are not seeing each other actively OR you are on the waiting list, I will be touching base as regular as possible to check in and see how things are going and providing you with some strategies and tips to help your child while you are waiting for regular appointments.
